Hardware requirements for Aerodrom

I'd be hoping to use an old laptop as the receiver, as this old Lenovo laptop would be elegant and quiet underneath the TV. I'd be using the VGA input on a new Samsung 46" LED.

How old of CPU will support a reasonable video resolution? I'm not talking full progressive HDMI, but something more like 1280x800 or 1680x1050 due to the age of the hardware.

I'll be testing it myself in a few days after the laptop gets rebuilt following a short loan to a friend, but it's is always good to be planning...

Try playing video files with Windows Media Player and check if your laptop can play such files.
